“It’s astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen.
Who wants naked envelopes when they can be dressed up so pretty with stamps that match the card inside? Although my husband gets a little crazy when I start stamping the envelopes for the bills! : )

School begins tomorrow and this “color me” card went out to our eight nieces and nephews that are of school age (even the collegiate). : ) It was my first attempt at using the paper piercing tool and I was trying for a pegboard look. (I used to have a pegboard in my classroom for a woodworking center!) This stamp set, called “Greeting Card Kids”, reminds me of my mom. She would have loved it. The sentiment is from the new “Yipee-Skipee” Stamp Set that I received free at Convention! : )

Stampingpeace and Stampin’ Up! is welcoming a new member to the family today…congratulations and a big welcome to Beth! I just love Stampin’ Up’s! team approach…it feels like one big family, with members all around the world. Welcome to the family Beth!
Beth’s congratulations card is a card on top of a card.
The base card is 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 3″. The smaller butterfly card is 8″ x 3 1/2″, scored at 4″.
The butterflies are made with the Butterfly Sizzlet, and the sentiment is from the Border Banter stamp set.
Happy Stamping to Beth and her friends over in far eastern Maine!

This is the same gift card holder that I posted yesterday, I just changed up the colors. : ) I made this for my brother James’ birthday, along with the star card that I posted last week, and this cute little treat box filled with chocolates. The treat box is too complicated to be able to write the specs here, but schedule a private session with me and I’ll teach you how to make them! This one was made with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (the lines making up the plaid) to give it a masculine look, but it can be decorated for any holiday or occasion.
Gift Card Holder Stamp Set: Simply Stars, Curly Cute (sentiment)
Papers: Midnight Muse, Rasberry Ripple and Very Vanilla (the flap piece is a retired specialty paper).
Inks: Midnight Muse and Rasberry Ripple
Treat Box Stamp Sets: Gorgeous Grunge, Delightful Dozen (sentiment on the tag).
Paper: Very Vanilla
Inks: Midnight Muse and Rasberry Ripple
Embellishments: 7/8″ Natural Ribbon and Linen Thread
Have a great week-end! Dawn
“…And merry when the great winds sing, through autumn’s woodlands brown…
At our monthly STAMPINGPEACE stamp class, one of our projects this week was this gift card holder. When you open the small gold plaid flap on the top…. (drum roll please…) : )
Ta Da!!! The interior has two pockets, one for a gift card, the other for a personalized note. It is made with an envelope that is cut in two. Whoever designed this was pretty clever!
Stamp Sets: Gently Falling, Curly Cute
Papers: Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla and Sweather Weather Designer Paper (plaid).
Inks: Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry.
Measurements: Base ~ 7 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ scored at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/2″. Stamped on the second section only, but the third section could be stamped as well (the back).
Cut a Stampin’ Up! envelope in half (the “taco” way, not the “hot dog” way), after you have licked it shut. With the open flaps facing up, place a line of glue down the middle of one half and glue both halves together. Glue to the inside of the base piece.
Plaid Flap Piece: 4 1/2″ x 1 1/8″
Acorn Base Piece: 3 1/2″ x 2″ Middle Piece: 3 1/8″ x 1 3/4″
Acorn Piece: 1 1/2″ x 2 7/8″ Glue together the three “acorn” pieces and place dimensions on the bottom back half only. (Leave the top free for the flap to slide into). Happy Gifting!

Welcome to STAMPINGPEACE and meet Wednesday stampers Marlene, Lorraine, Johanna and Sue. (Not pictured: Patti, Whitney, Mimi and Terry). We need a catchy name for our Wednesday stampers. Any suggestions? Our Wednesday evening group is full, but I’d like to start a monthly Monday night group if there is interest. The monthly Wednesday morning group does have openings. The next class is Sept. 18th and it will have a Halloween theme. We have some cute projects lined up, one being a muslin goodie bag. I’ll post pictures in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday the ladies were working on a gift card holder when this picture was snapped. I’ll post a picture and instructions tomorrow. See you then, Dawn.
