Hello, You!

Hello You Dahlia Cards and Johnny Appleseed 001

“We are rarely ill, and if we are, we go off somewhere and eat grass until we feel better.”

-Paul Gallico

Hello, You!  And welcome back to Stamping Peace.   After four sick days of cold and flu, I’m back and I’m ready to stamp!  Two friends became grandmothers while I was down and out, so it’s time to send out some cards.  : )

This card was made with the Regarding Dahlias Stamp set. (one of my favorites)  : )  I sponged the ink onto the flower, Blushing Bride in the center and Saffron Yellow on the outer petals.  The Black is Stayz-On Ink.  The papers are Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  The Crumb Cake is embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The card is a Becky Roberts design.

Stamps aren’t just for notecards anymore! : )

Lisa and Sue's BDay gifts 003

“Around here, however, we don’t look backward for very long.  We keep moving forward,

opening up new doors and doing new things, because we are curious, and curiousity

keeps leading us down new paths…Keep moving forward!

-Walt Disney

Good Morning Stampers!  Aren’t we always open to new ways to use our rubber stamps?   What about using a Wonderfall stamp to decorate a lunch bag…no wrapping paper necessary!  Wonder what’s inside the bag???  The ink colors used are pumpkin spice, daffodil yellow, gumball green, midnight muse and rich razzleberry.   The tag was made with the Framelits Label Collection.   Huge Happy Birthday Wishes and girlfriend love to my friend Lisa (we’ve been friends since we were 9 months old), and my “daughter” Sue.   xoxo

P.S.  Like the quote says, we don’t look backward for very long so I guess we can say that I’m recovering from the loss of my kitty.  Thanks again, friends, for the cards, calls and FB notes.

Eat, Drink and Beware!

Eat, Drink and Beware! 001

“I love the nostalgic myself.  I hope we never lose some of the things of the past.”

-Walt Disney

And here’s a little project from the recent past!  I made these treat boxes with apples on them for the first day of school, but these use the “Halloween Bash” stamp set and Pumpkin Spice and Stayz On Black Inks.   We’ll be making this at our stamping classes tomorrow and next Monday.   Hope you can join us!

Sept. Stamping Class

Sept. Stamping Class 001

“The heart of autumn must have broken here, and poured its treasure out upon the leaves.”

-Charlotte Fiske Bates

September Stamping Classes are coming right up!  There is a Wednesday, Sept. 18th class at 10:00 a.m., a Wednesday evening class at 7:00 p.m. (just one opening), and a repeat of the class next Monday evening, Sept. 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  This is one of the cards we will be making, along with two Halloween projects.  I hope you can come stamp with us, meet some new friends and have some refreshments!  We have a lot of fun and go home with three beautiful projects to send out to others.   It’s hard to see, but the vanilla background is embossed with the woodgrain embossing folder.  It adds another layer of dimension to the card.  It’s all in the details!  The first card I made (top)  didn’t have the brown matting and it looked like it was missing something.  The brown matting did the trick!

Papers:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Gumball Green

Dimensions:  Green:  5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, Early Espresso:  3 3/4″ x 5″ and Very Vanilla:  3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

Brighter Days!

Sympathy Cards 001

“While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.”

-John Taylor

Hi Friends.  This card was for my sister-in-law last week, after she lost her dad.  Doesn’t getting a card in the mail make us feel better?  I hope this one helped her just a little bit.  It’s made with the “Thoughts and Prayers” stamp set, a sympathy and get well set that really comes in handy.  The little butterfly is made with the “Beautiful Wings Embosslits.”

Well, you know that I also had a loss last week, the death of my cat, Tiger, who was killed by a fisher.   I so want to see his little white face in the kitchen window, waiting to come in!   I have been consoled by a lot of notes, phone calls and cards, and I sincerely thank all of my beautiful friends.  You have given me such comfort at this sad time.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sympathy Cards 002

This card came from my very precious, irreplaceable friend, Mimi.  I remember the night this past summer when a group of us had a cardmaking session with our dear friend Terry’s Swallowtail stamp.  This is a huge stamp and so fun to play with.  I used it to make some gift bags.  Mimi is so adventurous, I love all the different colors.  It’s a soft little reminder that brighter days are coming!

Sympathy Cards 003

This card was stamped by my neighbor, friend, and fellow cat lover, Whitney.  Whitney is always so supportive, she had my very first Stampin’ Up party!  She used to bring Tiger a Christmas present every year, a can of wet food, homemade treats or some other special treat.  Thank you for being a good friend to Tiger, Whitney!  The card was from her mom Laurie, too, a good friend of mine.  Cute kitten, Whitney!

Sympathy Cards 004

My poor little friend Sue went out and bought a card, since I had borrowed her sentiment set and keep forgetting to bring it to church to give to her.  I need to put it in my car so I won’t forget!   What good friends I have.  I’m so appreciative of you all.  xoxo Dawn

– Gladys Taber
