Sympathy, Birthday and Halloween Scrapbook Page 003

“If thou indeed derive thy light from Heaven,

Then, to the measure of that heaven-born light,

Shine, Poet!  In thy place, and be content…

-William Wordsworth

Good Morning and Happy Columbus Day Week-end from Stamping Peace!  We’re getting ready for another Saturday funeral.  Last Saturday it was for Cecelia, my 100 year old friend from Woodlands (an Assisted Living Center that I volunteer at weekly).  For the past six years our weekly mantra was “you’ve got to make it to 100 Cecelia…we’ll have a big party!”  She made it, and almost three months beyond.  She was such an amazing woman…always full of stories (and I never heard the same one twice).  Today the funeral is for Page, a dear family friend of my husbands side of the family, and the former mayor of Belfast.  Another strong and intelligent woman.  The sympathy cards for their families are a Mary Fish (over at Stampingpretty.com) design, I just changed up the colors to what I had on hand (soft suede and island indigo).  The embossing folder is “pretty print”, new in the holiday catalog.   The large circle was made with the 2 1/2″ circle punch.   The stamp set is “Simply Sketched”, a hostess set in the annual catalog.  The brad on the sentiment banner is an antique brad, also in the annual catalog.  It isn’t a standard size card ( 5″ square), so I used the envelope punch board to make some custom-fit envelopes.  That is such a handy little tool!  : )

Hope you’ll find some time this long week-end to do some stamping, and “Shine, [stampers!] In thy place, and be content!”,
