In Living Color

Thanksgiving 006

“Sometimes when we count our blessings, we think only about what God has done for us or about what He has provided us. So I wonder when the last time was that you stopped to thank Him for how He created you.”
  ~ Karla Dornacher

Welcome to Stamping Peace.   We were most fortunate to have a priest a ways back that always reminded us what wonderful creations we are in the Lord, so if you have not been blessed in that way, consider it done.  : )

Today’s card was one of three Thanksgiving cards that we made at our stamping classes last month.  It was a card featured in the holiday catalog, minus the bright base colors.   When I originally made these cards with the Truly Grateful stamp set, I was searching for some bright colors for our friends that live in tropical climates and ended up with island indigo and pumpkin pie.  The chevron is stamped in crushed curry, the wheat in early espresso and the paint spots from the Gorgeous Grunge set in pumpkin pie.  Stayz On Black was used to stamp the sentiment on to the orange washi tape.

A Happy Belated Birthday to New York Nancy, one of our most loyal commenters on Stamping Peace.  We heard you were blessed with a surprise birthday party Nancy…what a treat!  Cheers to you…we all wish you the best in the coming year.   : )

Todays quote came from a beautiful book called “Give Thanks” by Karla Dornacher.  It is full of wisdom, Bible quotes, short stories, beautiful illustrations and a few recipes.  It’s a keeper!

And here is one of our favorite Thanksgiving children’s books, “Grateful, A Song of Giving Thanks” by John Bucchino, illustrated by Anna-Liisa Hakkarainen.  It comes with a CD with an original recording of the book by Art Garfunkel.   It’s beautiful!

Hope you are enjoying this season of gratefulness,
