Semi-Flip Card

Christmas and Thanksgiving 004

“One morning we ran into a neighbor at the store and she asked brightly, ‘What was it at your house?’  ‘Fourteen below,’ we replied.  Her face fell.  ‘We had minus twelve,’ she said, and you could see that her day was ruined.”

~Richard Ketchum

Good Morning from Stamping Peace.  It was minus twelve here at our house when we got up this morning…perfect weather to stay in by the fire (or candlelight if you don’t have a woodstove or fireplace) and stamp!  This is a card that we made at stamping classes this month.  To make it you’ll need two pieces of 4 1/4″ x 11″ paper, glued together.  Score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.   Using the Labels Framelits, cut out an opening on the left side, lining up the middle of the framelit with the score line.  Using the next framelit size up, again line it up with the middle of the score line, but place the plastic pad from the Big Shot on just the left half of the framelit.  That will give you the little “arm” that swings.  Using both framlits, cut out a “frame” (the white piece) and then glue a snowflake onto each side.  It makes a fun card.  : )

The Holiday Marketplace on Saturday was so much fun!  Unfortunately it wasn’t well attended because of the freezing cold temperatures and the impending storm (for friends out of state…we got 10 inches of snow on Sunday!) but I had a ball stamping wrapping paper with about 20 different children.  They had so much fun, not one of them wanted to leave the table when their project was complete.  One little girl even burst out crying because she didn’t want to leave.  I think we need to have a parent and child stamping class!  : )

We’re getting ready for another snowstorm tonight…it’s going to be a perfect backdrop for decorating the Christmas tree.  : )

Stamp Peace,

Dawn

  1. Your weather is really in the Christmas spirit! Isn’t it wonderful how much kids love to craft. Your card is so cheerful. Love the red and white stripe.

    • Hi Brenda! The paper is Stampin’ Up’s Christmas paper from last year, we used the stripe in this years collection in the stamping classes. (this was my sample card). Hope you’re getting some good Christmas weather out there as well! : )
