Wetlands Card

Wetlands Card 002

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

This was a card that we had a choice of making on Sunday at Beth Mills’ class this past Sunday, and it’s certainly appropriate for today’s rainy weather!   We used a rectangular mask to sponge the background with island indigo, soft sky and crumb cake.  Then we went back with a straight piece of paper and sponged the horizon with island indigo.   After that we stamped the birds and the grass in the back with soft suede, and the grass in the front with crumb cake.  The sentiment is from the Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set.   The ribbon is crumb cake and the base paper and the scalloped oval behind the sentiment are island indigo.  I had planned to post this yesterday on my sister-in-law and niece’s birthday, but I’m a day off because of my trip!  Happy Birthday Beppie and Grace!  : )

  1. Beautiful! Makes me think of Popham Beach and the little sandpipers in August. Ah, sweet memories. I love the masking, the 3d effect of the grass, and the peaceful colors!
