An Apron Full of Flowers

Apron Card and Summer Schedule 010

“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy

the whole time to have such things about us.”

~Iris Murdoch

This is another project from my downline, Beth Mills’, class this past week-end.  We were able to choose our own sentiments for the card, and I chose ones from “Petite Pairs” that are appropriate for giving to the employees of my son’s landscaping business. Yesterday I made six of these cards for “the crew” and I thank my neighbor, Whitney, for loaning me her “Secret Garden” stamp set.

The flash on my camera washed the colors out a bit (they are more vibrant in real life), but they are Rasberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Daffodil Yellow.   The base cardstock and the ribbon are both Rasberry Ripple.  The large Oval Punch is used to punch out the “arms” of the apron.  The ribbon is glued under the Scallop Trim Border on the top.

The Rasberry Ripple  “pocket” is 1 3/4″ x 4 1/4″, with the Scallop Trim Border glued to the back.  Tuck a package of seeds into the pocket and isn’t this the sweetest card ever?  Thanks Beth!  : )    Stamping Peace, Dawn

  1. Good Morning Dawn,
Yes this is a great card. Perfect to give the “flower people”. I love the color combo. The whole thing looks so nice. I can’t wait to give it to a friend, not a landscaper, but one who loves aprons! 🙂

  2. Very nice Dawn. I had a friend’s daughter marry last summer and it was an outdoor wedding. They had seed packages for all to take home on the way out. Wouldn’t it be cute to make a wedding dress with a pocket and some tuxes with a pocket to put them in? Ideas, ideas.
