“We find delight in the beauty and happiness of children that makes the heart too big for the body.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Yesterday, Joseph, my little guy with Down’s Syndrome (well, not so little, he’s 18 now), got new “walking shoes” for school. He cannot tie laces and for five years our shoe store has had just one choice in men’s Velcro sneakers. This year there were two choices…the regular white sneakers and some black walking shoes. Joseph chose the black and said to me, “thank you. you’re precious!” He was grinning from ear to ear until he took them off at bedtime. That boy sure makes me happy! : )
This is one of the cards that we made at this week’s stamping classes. It uses the new Blackberry Bliss cardstock and ink, the Flower Shop and the Perfect Pennants stamp sets and the Butterflies Sizzlit. The little leaves are made with the Bird Punch. Many said that the color is gorgeous “in person”, when they hadn’t thought so when they saw it in the new annual catalog!
Last week Pope Francis asked us Catholics to reduce our use of technology. I’ve been trying to comply! I do plan to continue blogging, but maybe three days a week instead of five. Haven’t quite figured that all out yet. Hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer! xo
