Pinecones for Merry Monday

“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.”

Good Morning and Welcome to Stamping Peace!  This week’s challenge at Merry Monday is to make a Christmas Card with pinecones, greens and plaid ribbon.  I didn’t have a pine cone stamp, so made my own using the “wing” on the Bird Punch.  The cardstock is Soft Suede and each piece is sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The background paper on the right is Very Vanilla, embossed with the new Zigzag embossing folder.  The DSP (Designer Series Paper) is from the new “Color Me Autumn” collection in the new Christmas catalog.  Those are sitting on Real Red and Soft Suede and the base card is Mossy Meadow.  This is the first time I’ve used the Mossy Meadow cardstock and ribbon and I love it!!!  The sentiment on the inside of the card says “peace and love” from the Good Greetings set and is embossed in gold.  This card was so fun to make…even though I didn’t have the pine cone stamp set or greens or the plaid ribbon, “the creative effort” was good therapy!

Have a great week-end,

Dawn

  1. Hi Dawn,
Love your card! I’ve never seen a pinecone made like that and think it’s so original. Hope you won’t mind my CASEing it. And the background for it is lovely too. TFS.

  2. Such a beautiful card, Dawn! I’m so happy you found things in your stash that worked for this challenge! I really love the way you created the pinecone and your pretty bow! Thanks for playing along with us this week over at Merry Monday! 🙂
