Halloween Treat Bags

Halloween Treat Bags 007

“The purpose of life is to discover your gift.  The meaning of life is to give it away.”

~David Viscott

I always was taught that the purpose of life is to love and be loved, but I liked the quote anyway. : )  And won’t these little treat bags be fun to give away!  I watched a video on how to make them over on Angie Juda’s website, mychicnscratch.com.  It starts with a 5″ x 10″ piece of cardstock, scored 1 1/4″ on both sides (portrait) and 4″ on both sides (landscape).  The sentiment is from a brand new stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog, which goes live tomorrow, called “Mingle All the Way.”  The bat is from a SU 2013 stamp set called “Halloween Hello.”  The circle is punched from the 2 1/2″ circle punch and it’s base are two Labels Collection framelits glued together. (I didn’t have the Deco Label Framelits that Angie used).  I also didn’t have any Cajun Craze ribbon to match the DSP (Designer Series Paper), so I used the Cajun marker and colored Pumpkin Pie ribbon.  No one would ever know!  (In the video Bermuda Bay and Tangerine Tango papers/ribbons/ink are used).  The bat is raised up with a dimensional, as is the sentiment.  The bag holds a Reeses peanut butter cup (the large square package) perfectly. (the sides of the bag are short).

Just a reminder that Stampin’ Up!’s “short and sweet” deal ends tomorrow.  Sign up to be a hobby or business demonstrator for the usual price of $99.00, but pick out $150.00 worth of products of your choice for your starter kit!  It also includes free shipping.  With this promotion we welcomed Marlene to the team this week.  So happy to have you join the family Marlene!  : )  She will receive a 30% discount on her next order, and 20% on all orders after that.  Sweet!
