God Bless You

Elf Fry Box & Baptism Card 002

“O Happy Day!”

~K. Souza

Good morning and welcome to Stamping Peace.  I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving week-end and a beautiful start to your Advent yesterday.  We had a great-nephew’s Baptism on Saturday, for which this card was made.  I first made it last January, but this time added some embossing to the soft suede paper and some pearls (Ann Schach’s influence!)  : )

The sentiment is meant for a good and holy priest who is retiring from active priesthood today.  He was THE most effective priest I’ve ever known…people used to line up ten deep at my office door after Mass (I was the religious education director at the time) to discuss the Gospel and the Homily (sermon).  My heart overflows with happiness for him, knowing how much he has looked forward to retirement.  I hope it’s heaven on earth for him!

Advent (the four weeks of preparation and waiting for Christmas) began yesterday and we started watching the first segment of Susan Conroy’s “Coming to Christ” dvd series.  It is EXCELLENT!!!  It is filmed right here in Maine and gets right to the basics of how to find Christ in our lives.  If you are looking for some spiritual practice for Advent, I highly recommend it!

God bless you during this season of Advent, and happy stamping!

P.S.  Retired Crosses of Hope Stamp Set for the cross and sentiment and From My Heart stamp set with the image upside down behind the cross).
