Notepad Cover for #GDP008

Global Design Project 013

“The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser – in case we thought optimism was dead.”

~Robert Brault

This is a project I made, by candlelight, this morning while our power was out!  It is for the Global Design Project Challenge #GDP008 over at  which is a “Case the Designer” challenge this week.  I was inspired by the colors, the Writing Notes stamp set, and the large circle to make a cute notepad cover!  The project begins by scoring an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock at 5 1/4″ and 5 3/4″.  I used the Morning Post Alphabet stamp set for the “NOTES”, and the Howl-A-Ween stamp set for the companionable owl.  It’s funny where these challenges take me…way outside my box, that is for sure! : )

Thanks for the great challenge, Kylie and the Global Design Team!

  1. I can’t think of a better way to fill in the time when the power is out than by crafting! Your Note pad is adorable and useful to boot! Thanks so much for playing at Global Design Project with us this week. I, for one, appreciate the length you went to to play along, lol

  2. Wow . . . great quote! Very funny. Great project, makes you want to write and a super terrific picture of you. Looking beautiful.

  3. Creating by candlelight – that’s dedication my friend. Love your project – great way to use the owl outside of Halloween projects. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge. I’m glad you did.
