“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
This weeks challenge over at http://global-design-project is a sketch challenge and I’m sorry that I can’t add the sketch but I’m on my phone posting this note because for some reason we still don’t have internet connection on our computer and I have no idea how to get the sketch! This card was inspired by the sketch and the colors were inspired by a wreath of flowers from a memorial service that I attended this weekend. The embossing folder for the front panel is “Softly Falling” and “Pretty Print” behind the cut-out circle. The flowers and leaves are cut from the Botanical Builders Dies and the sentiments (front and inside) are from Rose Wonder stamp set. Have a beautiful week, Dawn.
“The laughter of girls is, & ever was among the most delightful sounds of the earth.” – DeQuincey
Happy Sabbath! I’m trying to share this blog post on my phone since our internet connection is down on our computer. Can’t guarantee what it’s going to look like! I made this card with GDP #041 as inspiration…http://global-design-project. com. Its a color challenge this week (Sugarplum, Night of Navy & Whisper White). Hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend! Cheers, Dawn
“His laughter…sparkled like a splash of water in sunlight.”
Our son Joseph was laughing in delight over a job well done this week when I asked him to cut two dead branches on a red twigged dogwood that grows as high as our house in the front yard. Instead of two branches I discovered a lawn full of branches (three trips to the burn pile) that about gave me a heart attack. Oh well, it will grow back next year! That experience on Friday led us to make this card together on Saturday for Father’s Day and for the challenge over at http://global-design-project.com
“A cheerful heart is good medicine.”
The challenge this week over at http://global-design-project.com is a theme project and here is what I hope will be a soothing card for someone when needed, made with the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set, the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder:
Have a great weekend, Stamping Friends! Cheers, Dawn
P.S. I don’t get the ads on the bottom of my blog posts, but I’m told that you do, since I use a free blogging site. I hope they are all appropriate ads!
“These are the days of miracle and wonder.”
The sketch challenge over at http://global-design-project.com this week offered the perfect opportunity to try out the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies to make the black panel on the right side of this card. These dies are another winner, as is the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies that I used for the flower and leaf. This card has a white base that is embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. (I had to lay the card on a piece of Island Indigo Paper to remove the shadows that appear when photographing a white card.) I turned the embossing folder sideways so that the “clump” of dots on the folder would be on the right. Thanks for the great inspiration for this graduation card Global Design Project! Have a wonderful weekend, Dawn.
