Photo Card

falling-petals-card-001

“In the coldest February, as in every other month in every other year, the best thing to hold on to in this world is each other.”

~Linda Ellerbee

Shalom!  I just love the new “Falling Petals” Embossing Folder…it makes a beautiful backdrop for a photo card.  The little mini envelope is made with the new “Love Notes” Framelits Dies, and the little note inside is stamped with the new Suite Sayings stamp set.  This was a picture I took of Joseph (in the red coat) and one of his Scouting buddies at a big “Klondike Derby” that we went to at Maine Maritime Academy this past weekend.  250 Boys out in the woods with dog sleds full of gear, practicing their outdoor survival skills…it was so much fun!!!

We’ll be making this card at our monthly Stamping Peace card class tomorrow morning.  If you are attending you may want to bring a photo to mount on your card, or you can leave that part unfinished until you can sort through photos!  I printed this photo on my computer with regular computer paper and it looks just great.

Cheers,

Dawn

Two “Cased” Cards

“Very much within our REACH, and meant for us to SHARE, once-in-a-lifetime moments, encountered EVERYWHERE.”

~Grace E. Easley

The first stamping blog that I ever came across was Becky Roberts “Inking Idaho” blog.  This is one of her cards that I cased (“case” in the stamping world means “copy and share everything”).  I just loved the simplicity of this card.  My hearts ended up a little higher than hers, but I’ll try again with the fun new Sealed With Love stamp set. : )

A newer blog that I follow is “shawnstamps”.  I saw this card that he made and loved the “frilly” hearts made with the new Love Notes Framelits Dies.  The only thing I changed was to tie the ribbon into a bow, he had the strings loose and hanging.  Have a great day!  Peace, Dawn

Occasions with Beth Mills

“Ah!  Life grows lovely where you are.”

~Mathilde Blind

Shalom!  As I mentioned yesterday, I spent the day in Dennysville (Downeast Maine) last week-end, at a Beth Mills Stamping Event.  Had a great time making two Valentine Cards (posted yesterday) and these three cards.  With the new Dragonfly Dreams set I learned that we can stamp on the background paper with Versa Mark and it will dry a darker shade of the color being stamped on.  Good to know, thank you Beth! (Even though I was supposed to stamp the bottom dragonfly to the right and not to the left!)

And here we have the new High Tide stamp set…this is on my wish list!

This “clean and simple” card was made with one of the dies from the new Window Box Thinlits Dies.

It’s so much fun to attend a class…great projects, great people and great food!  And it’s also fun to host a class, which I’ll be doing next Tuesday morning.  Stamping Peacers, see you then!  Peace, Dawn

“The poetry of the heart is never dead.”

~John Keats

Shalom!  Last weekend I was able to travel over to Dennysville in Downeast Maine for a Beth Mills Stamping Event.  These are two of the Valentine Cards that I made (we also made three other cards that I will post tomorrow).   If you ever get a chance to attend one of her classes, they are always amazing!
