Apples Everywhere

Thanks for stopping by!  I’m still on the “apple kick”…Picked For You was the first set I bought from the new Annual Catalog and I’ve been playing with it for two months!  It’s an incredibly busy time of year (four of my Scouts are working on Eagle Projects!), so I searched the internet for some ideas for this set.  The card by Su Mohr was stunning and I recreated it here, just adding some sequins and changing the word “teacher” to “friend.”  This card uses the “Swirly Frames” stamp set for the outside frame, the “Bokeh Dots” stamp set for the background, the “Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies” (which coordinates with the Colorful Seasons stamp set) for the branch, the Lemon Builder Punch for the leaves (which are stamped with the Bokeh Dots stamp) and the “Waterfront” stamp set for the “friend” sentiiment.  Ink colors are Granny Apple Green for the frame and background, Early Espresso for the apple stem and sentiment, and Real Red, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight for the apple.  The sequins are from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment….a total must-have for crafting, in my opinion! : )

Last week I had posted about a banner I had made with the Picked For You and Buffalo Check stamp sets.  Here it is in it’s place at my son’s house down the street, which is where I am holding stamping classes this year while my husband builds me some cupboards for my stamping supplies at my house.

A note about the “Picked for You” stamp set.  The tops of the apple stamps, including the stem, have a notch in them.  The notch should be at the top when stamping.  Otherwise, your stem will look like a palm tree!  We sure have some good laughs at stamping classes! (Love you Marlene!)  Have fun, xo Dawn
