“If we wish to make an apple pie from scratch, we must first invent the universe.”
Thanks for stopping by! This is a treat that each stamper at my September stamping classes received. They are caramel dipped apple lollipops that are made by Tootsie Roll. I found them at Wal-Mart, but found out about them on Rachael Tessman’s Halloween Treats Video. I’m not much of a candy person, but these are quite good!!! The lollipop covers are made with the Picked For You stamp set that I just LOVE. It is in the Annual Catalog. I stamped the apples on watercolor paper and muddled the ink with an Aquapainter. I also made a batch of these, with all my contact information written on the back, for a women’s study group that I’m leading at church. They are quick and fun to make! xo Peace, Dawn
“A seed hidden in the heart of an apple is an orchard invisible.”
Good Morning! Have you seen the new Buffalo Check Background Stamp in the new Occasions Catalog? It is so much fun!!! I used it to make this banner as decor for my upcoming stamping classes. My husband didn’t quite get why I was so excited to get this stamp, but I just love buffalo plaid!
I’ve been playing with the Picked for You apple stamp set for weeks now, it’s one of my all-time favorite sets. It takes some practice, but it is so versatile. I’ve made all kinds of cards with it, treats, door prizes, this banner….I’ll be able to show you more next week after stamping classes! Peace! Dawn xo
“THE ART OF really living IS giving.”
Hi stamping friends and welcome to the season of Thanksgiving and “thanksliving.” I hope you have beautiful plans for the week upcoming. We’re making plans for a family celebration, but also for 13 birthdays between now and Dec. 30th! This is one birthday card that I made with this weeks challenge over at http://www.global-design-challenge.com. I used the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.
I’ve made a few Thanksgiving cards…
which was from a design I had made for a retro sketch challenge a couple of weeks ago…
This is a card I had designed for a stamping class last week (and for one of those 13 birthdays coming up!) : )
And this was another card that I designed for last weeks stamping class:
And last but not least, a package I wrapped with the Moroccan DSP:
Have a wonderful week! xo Dawn
“Don’t ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is the special occasion!”
Good Morning and a special welcome to Cre8te Cards, a new blogging friend that has joined our Stamping Peace Family!
For this card, I wanted to try out the new Boho Chic Embossing Folder. Now the Marina Mist cardstock definitely makes a statement! I used the Work of Art stamp set to create this background for the leaf, stamped in Sahara Sand. I wasn’t satisfied with that blank white area on the right, so I stamped the whiteness away before sending this card off with a charitable donation for a friends cause! (but didn’t get a photo). I had seen this leaf layout on http://www.seanstamps.com/, his was purple and pink with a watercolor wash background and a different sentiment. His base was purple, but not embossed. I am really liking this embossing folder! It’s hard to see in the photo, but the leaf and the sentiment are both heat embossed in gold.

This was another card that we made at stamping classes this week. It’s a Mary Fish design that I changed from white, black and red to vanilla, black and Dijon. I also changed the fold from the top to the left. The leaves are colored with a chalk marker. Everyone chose different sentiments for the inside of the card, I chose “Celebrate Today.” Thanks for stopping by, hope you have time to stamp a little piece of yourself for someone today! Cheers, Dawn
“Life is haphazard and full of beauties which I try to catch as they fly by, for who knows whether any of them will ever return? ~ Margot Fonteyn
I learned how to make these leaves and card (this is a variation) from a Leena Gersa YouTube video… click “home” and scroll down and you can see how it is done. I made these for the amazing Stamping Peace downline and every single one came out different…each a unique creation…so much fun! (DownEast Stamping Peacers, yours are in the mail!) The background is made with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set…love it, use it all the time! The leaf is from the new Vintage Leaves stamp set and the heart was punched from the Owl Builder Punch. The gold cord is in the new Holiday Catalog and the sentiment is from an old Hostess set called Simply Sketched.
I can’t believe it is Friday already. Have a nice weekend, hope you’ll have a little time to stamp some peace to someone! Cheers, Dawn
“O good gigantic smile of the old earth this autumn morning!”
This is a Mary Fish CASE (Copy and Share Everything) with the new Acorny Thank You stamps and Acorn Builder punch. All I did was change up the white background piece with a left-over piece of whisper white embossed with the new Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. If you are new to stamping, Mary Fish is one of the “big fish” in the stamping world and does some great “clean and simple” cards. Tip for lining up the acorns to the acorn punch: punch out a template on a scrap paper and then use it when stamping the acorn images. Just fit the stamps snugly into the template and stamp. Then when you punch out the stamped images they are perfectly lined up!
