Treat Packages

“Each day comes bearing its own gifts.  Untie the ribbons.”

~Ruth Ann Schabacker

These little treat pouches are so cute and so easy to make.  It is called a “diaper fold”.  Start with a 6″ square of paper.  Fold one corner to the opposite corner so that you have a triangle.  Place the triangle in front of you and fold the left corner to the right and the right corner to the left, just like you would fold a cloth diaper.  Fold the top flap down and glue a sentiment to the front.  (We used the Tags 4 You Stamp Set).  Two peppermint patties fit in these perfectly and they could be made for any holiday!  Have fun, Dawn

Halloween Projects 031

“October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins…Merry October!

~Rainbow Rowell

I am having so much fun with the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits!  These treat bags were made for my downline, along with their October gift of some Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.

Halloween Projects 028

I designed these with the friendly little ghost from last years Fall Fest stamp set and the pumpkin from this years Howl-A-Ween Treat stamp set.  The witches hat bags are a variation of a Becky Roberts project.  Tip:  Three 6″ squares of paper will make two treat bags!

Another backyard picture of the gorgeous Maine foliage and wishes for an awesomely creative weekend!

Take a peek at this new purple ribbon coming in the new Holiday Catalog on Sept. 1st.   I just love the new color addition into the Halloween palette!  Also coming is this cute stamp set called “Howl-A-Ween”, this new black, purple and orange Washi Tape, a square pillow box die that made this box and a new 6″ x 6″ embossing folder called Woodland Textured Impressions.  Can you see the birch trees embossed on the box?  Also coming is a great new Fine Tip Glue Pen that I used to adhere the black glitter to the “Boo!”  Inside the cap is a piece of metal that fits down into the metal tip of the glue pen.  Pretty slick!  We made these pillow boxes at stamping classes yesterday and I’ll be making them for our trick or treaters.  We only get about a dozen children at our door so we can really treat them!  I know it’s early to be thinking about Halloween, but if time continues to fly like it did this summer, it will be here before we know it.  And as in everything, the preparations are as fun as the actual event!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping Peace, have a great day.  Cheers!  Dawn

Happy Halloween, Blogging Friends!

Halloween Paper Pumpkin Kit 001

“Come with me All Hallow’s Night.  We’ll frighten everyone in sight!”

~Early 19th Century Saying

Well, let’s frighten everyone with our saintliness on this Eve of All Saints Day!  : )   Now, I know you’ve seen these super-cute Halloween burlap bags all over the Stampin’ Up! world, but I just made these this afternoon for my family, and they were SO MUCH FUN to make!  They are from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit and I can’t say enough about how fun it is to have the stamps, ink, twine, sequins, tags, bags, stickers and clothespins all come in one little kit.  It even had the dimensionals to attach the tags to their colorful backings (and there are still 9 tags left over!)  A great little treat for Halloween!   The trick would be to have one for every single one of you…wish I could do that.  I hope you have a fun and un-frightful evening!!!

“From ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night,

good Lord, deliver us.”

~Scottish Prayer

We’re all ready for All Hallows Eve tomorrow night, and it turns out that Merry Everything and Mingle All the Way, the first two stamp sets that we got from this years Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, led the way in the preparations.  We live on a quiet dead-end street and only get about a dozen treat or treaters, so we don’t have too much to do in the way of getting ready, but it’s still a lot of fun!  Traditionally, children dress up as a favorite saint in celebration of All Saints Day on Nov. 1st.  What saint would you like to be?  Have a Happy All Hallow’s Eve!

Whitney's Card, Teachers Card 001

“Treat your friends as you do pictures, and place them in their best light.”

~Jennie Jerome Churchill

I have some very special friends that like to craft.  The first is my friend and neighbor, Whitney.  She designed and made this adorable Halloween card…it’s the cat’s meow, Whitney!!!

And then there are all my special friends in Joseph’s class at the high school.  Today they made some witches brooms, which they thought was very appropriate since the high schools mascot is a witch!  You all “swept” right through that project like pros!  Nice job! It was so good to see you all and I will be back to your class next month.  We’ll be making a fun Thanksgiving project!  Love, Mrs. MacKay (Dawn)
