“Visitor’s footfalls are like medicine, they heal the sick.”
I used the sketch over at http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com for this Thinking of You card. It’s for a close friend who is going to have a biopsy done next week. I used an old Stampin’ Up stamp set called Regarding Dahlias that I also used for the very first card on this blog back in 2013! The sentiments are from the So Many Shells stamp set. Both the dahlia and the pink pirouette circle are cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.
I wanted to use pink because that is a healing color. I always head to Pink Pirouette but I think Powder Pink (the color of the little bow) will be my new go-to pink for Get Well Cards since Pink Pirouette will be retiring! The dahlia was inked with Basic Grey and sponged with So Saffron, with Pink Pirouette in the center. The sentiments were stamped with Basic Grey.
The sentiment on the back of the card was a Hobby Lobby sale item I picked up a few months ago.
Thank you for your congratulations here on the blog yesterday and on my Facebook page for our son Jonathan’s second place win at the Bangor (Maine) Garden Show this past week-end. Our whole family appreciates your kindness! This photo is part of the booth that he had across from his display. Have a peaceful day everyone! xoxo Dawn
“If I had a single flower for every time I think of you, I could walk forever in my garden.”
The Heartfelt Blooms is another free with a $50.00 purchase stamp set with Stampin’ Up! I needed a quick and easy card so I made this up with the old Square Lattice Embossing Folder as the background. This stamp gives a photographic image, can’t wait to start playing with it!
“In the coldest February, as in every other month in every other year, the best thing to hold on to in this world is each other.”
I’ve really been mixing up the old with the new lately. This quick and easy winter card was made with the new Winter Wonder Embossing Folder, but I paired it with some old 2012 ribbon. (I adore Stampin’ Up! ribbon…very high quality). The sentiment is also from an old set called Curly Cute. The Night of Navy small “snowflake” was made from a die from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.
The inside of the card also uses some old supplies. The “Wishing You” sentiment comes from the “Holly Jolly Greetings” stamp set, the little snowflake comes from an old hostess set called “Warmth & Wonder” and the “Peace” greeting comes from “Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies.” I know that some of my older stamping friends have some of these sets and we like to use both the old and the new! : )
Have a wonderful day! Peace, Dawn

Peace be with you, Stamping Friends, and Happy New Year! I haven’t posted in a very long while…not because I haven’t been stamping but because of other obligations (mostly Boy Scout related). : ) This card is one that I received in a card swap hosted by my friend Mimi. I liked it so much that I made more. I added the red hearts which were cut from an old embosslit that I have called “Fashionable Hearts.” The stamp set is one that has been around for quite awhile called “Wetlands”. The brush stroked stamp is from the ever versatile “Work of Art” stamp set. Cardstock colors are Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla. Our son Joseph used one of these cards to send to one of his Scout buddies who unexpectedly lost his grandmother this past week. That reminds me, many of you prayed for my close friend, Barbara, who battled ovarian and colon cancer for two years. I’m sad to say that she lost the fight in October. Thank you for your prayers and kindnesses to her, and a special thank you to blog follower Nancy Farrell in New York, who sent Barbara a homemade prayer shawl and several cards without having ever met Barbara (or me, for that matter!) Nancy has become a dear on-line friend and we hope to someday meet.
Our next stamping class is this Monday afternoon. One of our cards will be made with the new “Smitten Mittens” Stamp Set, Many Mittens Framelits Dies and the new Winter Wonder Embossing Folder. The colors will be a little different than this card that I made here…we’ll be using Crumb Cake, Rasberry Ripple and Whisper White during class. We’ll also be making a Valentine Card and a Valentine Box. See you then, Stamping Peacers! Have a great weekend everyone. Take Care, Dawn

Good Morning! This is a variation of a Brandi Cox card. I wasn’t feeling inspired by the starfish in the Picture Perfect stamp set, so I went looking for cards using it. For the beach I used the “You’ve Got This” stamp set. The starfish is stamped with So Saffron for the first stamp and Baked Brown Sugar for the second layer. The water is a torn strip of Lost Lagoon and the base is Pool Party stamped with Lost Lagoon. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
Have a happy weekend,
