“Earth Laughs in Flowers.”

I am the Safety and Wellness Support for our son Jonathan’s “Summersweet Landscaping” business and was able to welcome three new female staff members this week with cards made with the Flower Shop and Happy Day stamp sets. The envelopes were decorated with the Petite Petals and Flower Shop Stamp Sets and the leaves from the Bird Builder Punch. Welcome to Summersweet Landscaping Maria, Moe and Holly. May you have a summer sweet. Peace and Garden Glory, Dawn

June 2, 2014 Now that the weather is starting to warm up, a reminder to drink half our body weight in ounces of water every day! : )
June 9, 2014 Growing up I was a big fan of the “Little House on the Prairie” books. One little fact I always remember from the stories is when the girls surprised their “pa” with ginger water (called “switchel” in New England), out in the hayfield. I thought it would be fun to try to find a recipe for it and surprise Jonathan’s crew with some. I found the recipe in the “Little House Cookbook, Frontier Foods from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Classic Stories” and it contains 1 quart water, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp. ginger. It’s a tart thirst quencher that was fun to try! : ) I used the “Kind and Cozy” stamp set and Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to embellish the mason jar.

Today everyone got a gift bag at Summersweet Landscaping’s first Innovation Luncheon. Inside was a business card holder and business cards. Everyone was challenged to distribute 7 business cards before next month’s luncheon! : )
This was some of the crew (and Joseph) the morning before the luncheon. They are working on the Children’s Garden along the river in our town.
