Open House for Stamping Peace Leaders and Class Attendees

Open House Card 004

“Strange, isn’t it George, how each man’s LIFE touches so many others, and when he isn’t around it leaves an awful hole.”

~Clarence the Angel, It’s a Wonderful Life (movie)

You, my friends, help fill up that hole left by our nephew’s passing yesterday.  Thank you for your kind comments, e-mails, visits and phone calls.   You are such a blessing to me.

To our Stamping Peace Leaders and Class Attendees…you are invited to an Open House at my home on Saturday morning, December 6th, for a little Feast of St. Nicholas party.  In appreciation of your stamping friendships we’ll stamp a couple of projects, enjoy some snacks and beverages and give out some door prizes.  Stop in anytime between 9:00 a.m. and Noon.  Bloggers, there will be some blog candy for you on that day, just leave a comment on the blog to be eligible.  (Stamping Peacers, you can play along with the blog candy as well if you are a blog follower.)  Are you planning a Feast of St. Nicholas party this year?  You can find  you many resources at http://www.stnicholascenter.org

This invitation was made with last years stamp set called “Santa’s List”.  He’s surrounded by holly from this year’s Holiday Invitation stamp set and the image is cut out from and matted on a border from the Window Frame Framelits.   The banner insert for the inside of the card was also made with the Holiday Invitation stamp set and was cut out with the Banner Framelits.  The ho! ho! ho! was heat embossed with white embossing powder and is from the new “Good Greetings” stamp set.  That stamp set will be one of our door prizes at the Open House.

Our furnace is out, I’m waiting for the furnace man but in the meantime have to go stoke the woodstove…then I’m going to try some “Triple Time Stamping”…I’ll let you know how that goes!  Have a happy and holy week-end, Dawn

Stamping Classes

Memo Pad Covers 001

“To be thrown upon one’s own resources, is to be cast into the very lap of fortune: For our faculties then undergo a development and display an energy of which they were previously unsusceptible.”

~Benjamin Franklin

We had some new friends join our blogging family over the past week….a very warm welcome Mrs. Slocum, Stephanie E., Columbian Cuties, Bridget, Sheryl and “L”.   May you be blessed with some helpful stamping inspiration from time to time here at Stamping Peace. (or wellness or gardening info!)  Today I started to prepare for our stamping classes that will be held this Friday (childrens) and next Mon. and Tues. (adults) and made these cute little memo pad covers.  They were my first attempt at choosing projects for our classes.   Usually I have everything planned out a month in advance but I was so tied up with the Garden Show with my son that I got behind in my stamping plans.  So, it remains to be seen what our projects will actually be!  Right now the Monday morning and Monday evening classes are totally full.  There are openings for Tuesday morning and two openings for Tuesday evening.  Please let me know if you’d like to join a class!  (Note:  the evening classes are switching back to 7:00 p.m. instead of our winter hours of 6:30 p.m.)  Hope to see you next week!  Dawn  P.S.  Measurements for the memo pad covers…solid base color – 6 7/8″ x 3 1/4″ scored at 3 1/4″ and 3 5/8″.  The corners were rounded with the Envelope Punch Board.  The solid banners were cut out with the Banners Framelit Dies.  The Designer Series Paper measures 3″ x 3″ and just the bottom two corners are rounded.  The sentiment was stamped from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.
