“The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination.”
There is “real” snow in the forecast three times this week but I’m having fun making paper snow with the Snowfall Thinlit Dies (only available during November). This is an adaptation of a Jan Chapman card which I’m going to use as Hanukkah cards for my Jewish friends. The background is sponged with Night of Navy and Blueberry Bushel inks. The snowflakes and sentiment are stamped with Night of Navy (Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set) and the larger snowflakes are cut from silver foil paper. I couldn’t get a great picture without sunlight but it’s a striking “clean and simple” card!
“In seed-time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy.”
Winter stole in overnight…time to stay indoors and stamp! : ) This is a card we made yesterday at our stamping classes. It was inspired by Artisan stamper Emma Goddard. I changed up the snowflake colors (hers were gold), the snowflake stamp and the sentiment (hers was a tag tied across the card with twine). You can see her card and other beautiful creations at the Coastal Crafter. The background is a wash made on watercolor paper. Just wet the paper with the aquapainter and then paint it with ink pressed into the cover of your Gorgeous Grape ink. Let it completely dry before stamping the snowflakes, which are from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set. The white snowflakes are cut from glitter paper and the new Snowfall Thinlits Dies (available only in November). The sentiment is from an old set called “Holly Jolly Greetings.” The card is gorgeous, but the “real thing” is pretty gorgeous too. This was my backyard when we woke up this morning. Enjoy the day and have a great weekend! Peace, xo Dawn
“Peace is the father of friendship.”
We have two stamping classes for our Peace Stampers today and the door prize will be a blender pen. Everyone that attends gets a little something so that everyone is a winner. The “little something” this time is something from my Orlando trip, I can’t wait to share some new product with everyone, and share all the beautiful memories!
We’re getting snow here in central Maine tomorrow, so I pulled out the new “Beautiful Blizzard” stamp set to decorate the tags for the door prizes. The “Peace” sentiment comes from an old set called “Holly Jolly Greetings.”
The 12:30 class today is full, but we have one opening at tonight”s 6:00 p.m. class. If you would like to come stamp, just let me know! We will be making a Thanksgiving card, an Advent/Winter Card and a Christmas card. : )
Peace, xo Dawn
