Fusion: Peace Begins With Me Pilgrimage

“We don’t think about pilgrimage in this country.  The idea of taking a six week walk is totally foreign to most Americans.  But it’s probably exactly what we need.”

~Emilio Estevez

I have never sent fan mail to the movie industry, but this card will be a first.  I made it to send to Emilio Estevez for his movie “The Way”.  It stars his dad, Martin Sheen and three other actors who are making their way across northern Spain (wine country, hence the grapes on the card) : )  on pilgrimage on “The Way”, also known as the “Camino de Santiago” (The Way of St. James).  It’s a 500 mile trek that pilgrims have been making for 1000 years.   The movie inspired me to suggest a “Peace Begins With Me” pilgrimage to my Boy Scout Troop and we are planning a 25 mile route to all six churches in our parish over Memorial Day Week-end. : )

I used the design lay-out from this weeks  http://www.fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com

for this card.  I used the old “Market Fresh” stamp set, along with Gorgeous Grunge, the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies, Stampin’ Up! markers and the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  The cardstock is Mossy Meadow, which is coming back into the line-up with the new color refresh in June.  Yay!  : )  Have a great day, Peace, Dawn xo

Market Fresh

Card Class 012

“What is a friend?  A single soul dwelling in two bodies.”

Good Morning!  This is the second of three cards (the first one was shown yesterday) that we are making at stamping classes this week.  This is a card shown in the annual catalog, we’re just changing the base color to Tip Top Taupe, adding some gorgeous grunge and some sequins.  The sentiment on the inside of the card is on white paper with rounded corners (we use the envelope punch board for that) and the sentiment is “you’re amazing!” from the Simply Wonderful Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  The sentiment is stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink.  The grapes are colored with Blender Pens in Wisteria Wonder and shaded with Rich Razzleberry, the leaves are colored with Pear Pizzaz, accented with Old Olive, and the stem, banner and the “a” in Thanks -a- Bunch are colored with Tip Top Taupe.   The grunge is stamped on both the base and the central image with Tip Top Taupe.  The 4 1/4″ base card is embossed with the new Brick Wall Embossing Folder and the purple banner is made with the Farmers Market DSP (Designer Series Paper).  Thanks a Bunch for stopping in, happy stamping, and always, peacebewithyou.
