Happy Summer!

“A life without love is like a year without summer.”

~Swedish Proverb

Are we having a wonderful summer, stamping friends?  I wonder what everyone has been up to!  I’ve been on two exciting Boy Scout Camp-Outs, spent a week with 400 Scouts at Katahdin Scout Reservation, and had lots of fun days at the lake!  I don’t stamp much in the summer because the humidity affects the paper (no air conditioning here in Maine).  If you look at the top of the wavy green bottle on my card, made with the Bubble Over Stamp Set, you will see what I mean about the humidity!

This layout is from a card I saw on Artisan Stamper Charlet Malletts blog “Painted Orange”.  She had used Brusho for the background but I instead sponged on some Daffodil Yellow ink, and added some Calypso Coral bubbles.  I also added this lemon lime ribbon and a different lemon segment.  I love the summery look of this card so much that I made 12 of them! (Six for a Card Swap).  I hope you are able to do a little stamping this summer.

Bubble Over!

“May all our troubles be bubbles.”

~Unknown

Good Morning and I hope everyone had a great week-end.  We had a little birthday luncheon for my brother-in-law yesterday and I was finally able to play with the new “Bubble Over” stamp set to make his card.  I stamped the bottom part of the bottles twice so it would look like there is liquid in the bottles.  The background is made from a very old embossing folder called “Square Lattice.”  I have used this folder over and over and it taught me not to wait to get a new embossing folder because once they are gone from the catalog, they are gone!  The red band is embossed with the “Softly Falling” Embossing Folder.  The little red stars are the new enamel shapes…my first time using them and just love them.  They add texture and pop!  The inside sentiment is from one of last years stamp sets called “Suite Sentiments.”
