“Fill us all with peace.”
Good Morning! This was our backyard at 5:00 this morning. We heard the city plow go by before that and everyone flew out of bed to see how much snow we had…the first snow is always so exciting! It is like a blanket of peace falling from the sky. This tag has an aura of peace as well. It was inspired by a card that Shawn over at Shawnstamps made for the Global Design Project last week, and is a prototype that I made this weekend for tags for our “Giving Tree” at church. The Giving Tree is put up during Advent (the four weeks before Christmas) and parishioners take a tag, bring it home and purchase a gift suggestion that is written on the back of the tag. We then bring the gift back to church, with the tag attached to the front of the gift, and then the gifts are distributed to different organizations in our area. The tag is made with the Dover of Peace Stamp Set, heat embossed with silver on vellum. The background is stamped with Marina Mist Ink with a stamp from the Work of Art set. The little sliver of DSP (Designer Series Paper) on the bottom is from the Season of Cheer paper. The “To/From” stamp is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set.
Enjoy the first snow today…a perfect day for stamping some peace! xoDawn
“One cannot have too large a party.”
It’s a party of gift tags, with every (regal) color in the rainbow! Yesterday I had a bit of free time in the morning and decided to try out the new Ornate Tag Topper Punch. Using paper from my scrap box, I made up a set of gift tags using the birds nest from “World of Dreams” stamp set from the Annual Catalog. The “To-From” is stamped from the “Cozy Christmas” stamp set in the Holiday Catty. Tip: If trimming the sides of the Very Vanilla cardstock becomes necessary, use the flat end and not the rounded end of the tag against the cutting ruler, flipping it over to cut the opposite side.
Have a weekend full of dreams,
“There seems a magic in the very name of Christmas!”
I kept seeing this card, and finally learned that those who attended convention this summer made it there in Salt Lake City. I didn’t get the dimensions exactly right, but close enough! The card was made with all new products in the Holiday catalog…hope you have it in your hands by now because it goes live today! (Stamping Peacers…if you missed classes last week, I have your catalog here at the house). The little Santa is cut out from Designer Series Paper called “Home for Christmas.” I’m so drawn to it, because I grew up with this artwork in the 60’s. Very nostalgic…just wonderful! The sentiment is from the new “Cozy Christmas” Stamp Set. (The ribbon, button, paper and stamp set are all on page 9 in the Holiday Catalog.) I’m going to make some more of these for the Feast of St. Nicholas (Dec. 6th) …so cute! : )
