“A boy carries out suggestions more wholeheartedly when he understands their aim.”

~Robert Baden-Powell (founder of Boy Scouts)

Good Morning Stampers!  I hope you had a great week-end!  I spent Saturday and Sunday mornings selling Camp Cards (Discount Cards to area businesses ) with the Boy Scouts outside of Sam’s Club.  For every card they sell, they get half the money ($2.50) towards their registration to Boy Scout Camp this summer.  The boys all did very well, so last night I made this card for them to send to Sam’s Club to thank them for letting us sell outside the store.  It was freezing cold (high 20’s ) but we are appreciative of the opportunity (and thankful of everyone who purchased one)! ❤  I used the sketch from http://www.fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com to design the card.  I used the Burlap Background Stamp, the old Great Outdoors stamp set for the tent, the Waterfront stamp set for the ground and the sentiment came out of an old Paper Pumpkin kit.  Thanks for the inspiration Fab Friday!   Peace, Dawn xo

Stampin’ Up! The Great Outdoors Tent Card

Great Outdoors II 003

“I feel it shelter to speak with you.”

~Emily Dickinson

I started playing with the Great Outdoors stamp set last week and challenged myself to use every stamp in the set, including the little ant!!!  This is the card I made with the tent stamp and it feels very nostalgic to me, remembering all the camping trips we have taken with the Boy Scouts!  Also, for some reason, the black background makes me remember my great-grandparents photo albums, which all have black pages.  I chose the chevron patterned Designer Series Paper (DSP) because it reminds me of tents/teepees!  This stamp set retired in June, but if you have it, or have access to it, it sure is a versatile set, especially here in the state of Maine where many of us are involved in outdoor activities. : )
