“We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean.  But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.”

~Mother Teresa

This is the first of two cards (the second one was posted last week) that were sent in by Beth Mills for our July Stamping Peace Leadership Challenge.  I think it was the “seaside-iest” card of all that were entered.  Congratulations, Beth…you will be awarded a Lost Lagoon Ink Pad!   The card starts with Whisper White cardstock that is stamped with the hardwood stamp in Lost Lagoon.  Beth used blender pens and added some Baked Brown Sugar(BBS) and Pool Party to the wood! The next layer is cut with the Striped Scallop die in Baked Brown Sugar. This is to mimic a cargo net. Three strips of cork (non SU item) distressed with BBS on the left serve as a wharf. (She got this idea to use cork from Justin Krieger). The shells and crab are from the By the Tide set and stamped in BBS on WW and Pool Party. The front is mounted on a Lost Lagoon card base. The inside and the envelope flap are stamped with some shell images.  We definitely would be missing something is we didn’t see this creation, Beth!  Whoever receives it will be blessed by your talent and your kind and giving heart.

The Waves Are Rolling In!

“Every loving word and action create a far reaching ripple effect – like the waves of the ocean.”

~Swami Dhyan Giten

Beth Mills, one of our incredibly talented leaders at Stamping Peace, made this card for our July “Seaside Card” challenge.  She made it look like waves with whitecaps coming into shore.  She used the Striped Scallop Die in whisper white and used two way glue to add Dazzling Diamonds to make it sparkle . The  “water” includes 5 different blues, starting light to dark : Pool  Party, Coastal Cabana, Lost Lagoon,  Bermuda Bay and finally Island Indigo. The “waves” are set on  a Crumb Cake “beach ” with stamped Crumb Cake splotches with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The greeting in Bermuda Bay is from A Dozen Thoughts.  She colored 6 rhinestones with the Coastal Cabana Blendables  (to cover up some ink lines!) : )  The card base is Bermuda Bay.  Beautiful card, Beth!!!
