“In the coldest February, as in every other month in every other year, the best thing to hold on to in this world is each other.”
Shalom! I just love the new “Falling Petals” Embossing Folder…it makes a beautiful backdrop for a photo card. The little mini envelope is made with the new “Love Notes” Framelits Dies, and the little note inside is stamped with the new Suite Sayings stamp set. This was a picture I took of Joseph (in the red coat) and one of his Scouting buddies at a big “Klondike Derby” that we went to at Maine Maritime Academy this past weekend. 250 Boys out in the woods with dog sleds full of gear, practicing their outdoor survival skills…it was so much fun!!!
We’ll be making this card at our monthly Stamping Peace card class tomorrow morning. If you are attending you may want to bring a photo to mount on your card, or you can leave that part unfinished until you can sort through photos! I printed this photo on my computer with regular computer paper and it looks just great.
“Love is the epiphany of God in our poverty.”
We’re usually thinking a month ahead when we’re stamping for holidays, so tomorrow at card class we’ll be making this Valentine card with the new “Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack”. The class is full, but if you and your friends would like to start up a class, just let me know. We meet once a month and make three projects! xoxo Dawn
“So be truly glad, there is wonderful joy ahead.”
The challenge this week over at http://global-design-project.com/ is to make something with Project Life supplies and I used the Project Life 3″ x 4″ Grid Cards to make a graduation card for one of our goddaughters who is graduating this weekend from St. Joseph’s College here in Maine. She is from out of state and loves our Maine Blueberry Coffee, so I had to add the coffee stain from the Timeless Textures stamp set to her card. (I should have made it blue!) : )
I chose the tiny circles from the Timeless Textures set for the bottom of the grid card, to coordinate with the larger circles on the Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set, and the inside sentiment, “Dream Big” , is from the Enjoy the Little Things Stamp Set. Cardstock and Ink colors are Hello Honey, Bermuda Bay and Smokey Slate. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice weekend! xoDawn.
“One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.”
This morning Joseph and I went to his old high school to stamp with his old class. Well, he didn’t get to stamp because he was my helper, but here he is stamping after we got home. : ) We had so much fun with Tania, Michael, Dustin, Kylee and Kendra. (I’m forgetting somebody!) They were awesome stampers and made cute spring cards for their family members! We used the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set for the little chick, From the Garden stamp set for the sign and little bow, the Handpicked Framelits to cut out the sign and bow, the Circle of Spring stamp set for the “hello spring” sentiment and the Suite Sayings stamp set for the interior sentiment. A good time was had by all and Joseph and I are very thankful to have such an fun opportunity to “do for others.” 🙂 See you next month, Mrs. Emerson and Ms. Lisa’s class!
“How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it.”
Good Morning from Maine and welcome to all of our visitors from Brian King’s blog! What a funny surprise when I checked his blog this morning to see the weekly Global Design Project and discovered my photograph. Thanks, Brian! If you don’t already play along with the Global Design Project, come join us…it’s a lot of fun and really helps the creative process.
We have stamping classes today and tomorrow at my house, and this is one of the cards we are making. This is the Circle of Spring stamp set and the little pink line on the bottom is from the Sale-A-Bration Hello stamp set. The inside sentiment is from Suite Sayings and says “Wishing you all the beautiful blessings of Easter.”
If you follow my blog, you have heard about my friend Barbara who has uterine cancer that has spread to colon, liver and lung. She has four boys, the youngest in 8th grade, so we are really praying hard for her healing. This morning she is in surgery for the colon cancer and we are praying that the doctors can remove every speck. Thank you again to our faithful blog reader and friend, Nancy Farrell, who crocheted Barbara a prayer shawl which I posted earlier. This is a card that I made this weekend for Barbara. It’s made with the Tag It Stamp Set.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
The Weekly Global Design Project has provided another great burst of inspiration with a theme challenge of “Balloons” this week. I just happened to have a piece of “balloon paper” from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper that floated right into this project, along with other scraps I had laying around on my little table that is home to my paper cutter. For a “scrappy” little thing, the card turned out okay! The Mint Macaron base is textured with the Boho Chic Embossing Folder. The sentiment comes from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set and is cut out with an Ovals Collection Framelit Die. The thin black scrap is from the “It’s My Party” DSP Stack. It’s glued onto a scrap of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon. Inside the sentiment says “Hooray! Hoorah!” and is going to go out to our middle sons girlfriend, who just got a new hospital job in her field of psychology. We are so proud of her accomplishments!
Have a great week,
“Above all, love each other deeply.”
This weeks Global Design Project #GDP018 was especially challenging for me because all I had in the house for sentiment paper was one 6″ square of Watermelon Wonder DSP from the Designer Series Paper Stack. I’ve never used Watermelon Wonder before, so I was matching it up with all different colors until I came across the confetti paper in the new Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and bingo..Mint Macaron! The “You Wonderful Thing You” sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set, also in the new Occasions Catalog. The ribbon is the new Pool Party Glitter Ribbon, but it passes for Mint Macaron in this card! : ) Hope you have time to hop on over to http://www.global-design-project.com and see all the great creations.
