“Make each day your masterpiece.”
Yesterday I entered this little chick card in the Global Design Project Color Challenge. I had also made another card with a little elephant on it. When hubby came home from work he looked at Mr. Elephant and said “you should put a yellow stripe on that.” He’s never commented on a card before, but he was right, the card needed an extra pop of yellow! Thanks, Tim! : ) For the supplies used for this card and a photo of the inside of the card, just click “home” and see yesterday’s post. The background paper is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. On the envelope I used Summer Silhouettes stamp set along with the Patterned Occasions stamp set. On the flower there is a little Smoky Slate Candy Dot. Such an interesting color combination for a challenge. Thanks Global Design Project!

Hi Friends! I’ve been among the missing this week, hosting stamping classes and working for my son Jonathan’s Summersweet landscaping business! This is a Mother’s Day Card that we made at classes this week. It uses the new Butterfly Thinlits and the new Crazy About You Stamp Set in the spring catalog. The leaves are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. This one is for my mother-in-law, but we’re also making them as gift certificates for Summersweet. : ) I hope you have a nice and relaxing Mother’s Day!

In response to that quote I would have to say, “we thank God for sending us friends!” My friend Mimi went on a trip recently and brought me home a little gift from Teavana, all decorated up with this beautiful tag that she made. Thank you so much Mimi. The tea is divine! The tag was cut out with the oval framelits and the pumpkin was punched with the oval punch. The pumpkin pieces are embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The flowers are stamped with the “Too Kind” stamp set and the greens are stamped with the “Summer Silhouettes” stamp set. Such a beautiful tag, Mimi!
“If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally ASTOUND ourselves.”
Good day, welcome to Stamping Peace, and see the pretty card we made at Stamping Class this morning! We’ll be making it again this evening, tomorrow morning and tomorrow night. It is made with the Summer Silhouettes stamp set and the Lots of Thanks stamp set and is a variation of a Susan Itell design. Come join the fun and make this and two other projects! Cheers, Dawn
“Have nothing in your home that you don’t know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
Envelopes are useful, but they can be beautiful too! Who wants to give a naked envelope? Well, our stamps sure can liven things up! This envelope décor was stamped with the Summer Silhouettes stamp set and the “So Sorry” stamp set. It’s for a gift certificate to the dog groomer for one of our Stamping Peace Team Members (one of my best friends) who came over to visit two nights ago. While she was here, her dog jumped into our little garden pond (that hasn’t been cleaned out from the fall and winter yet) and came out NOT smelling like flowers. Right after that, my next door neighbors granddog came over, sniffed her pant leg, lifted his leg, and did his business on her. (She had just come from Dog Obedience Class so she must have had a dog smell!) It was horrifying (but kind of funny at the same time!) I want my friend to come back again, so hopefully this pretty envelope and it’s contents will make everything better. (Thanks for being such a good sport Mimi!) : ) Have a nice Memorial Day week-end everyone. Peace, Dawn P.S. Kathy, if you go to the “Home” tab and then scroll back to “Holding Memories Close”, I’ve answered your questions. Go for it! : )
“We are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream…”
Good Morning! This card is a variation of one that I saw over at SplitCoast Stampers and is one of our projects for our stamping classes being held today and tomorrow. We’re using the last of the Midnight Muse paper before it retires, along with Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The butterflies, stamped in Midnight Muse and Marina Mist, are from Papillon Potpourri. The ink splotch is from Gorgeous Grunge, the little flowers are from Summer Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Loving Thoughts. We have one opening for tonights class (one of our regulars has a meeting she has to attend), and there is one opening in tomorrow nights class. This morning’s class is full, but there are two openings in tomorrow morning’s class. Come join us to make this card and two other projects! Cheers, Dawn
“It is when we give of ourselves that we truly give.”
Love and Sympathy to my friend Mimi today. She has her mom’s funeral this morning…you’re in my heart today Mimi.
Since I have become a cardmaker, my family has started receiving packages of cards as gifts. This pink set is for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day this week-end, and the brown set is for my brother-in-law who has a birthday on Sunday. Stampin’ Up! has these 6″ cellophane bags that are perfect for packaging up a set of cards. I love making these gifts and I hope they like receiving them!
I have some blog candy for Mother’s Day (a Coastal Cabana Ink Pad). Everyone who leaves a comment today will be eligible for the drawing. Happy Mother’s Day my friends!
