Particularly Pretty Pine!

Terry's Card 003

“A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift, a friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift.  A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy and grace, and makes the whole world we live in a better and happier place.”

~Jean Kyler McManus

My friend Terry sent this beautiful card and I just love it.  The Woodgrain Embossing Folder “sets the tone” on the Early Espresso brown base and plaid ribbon is the perfect compliment to pine.  I’ll have to ask Terry if she sponged the brown tips onto the pine stamp, or colored them with a marker.  I like how the rounded corners on the right hand side of the card soften the whole image.  It’s just beautiful sitting on my kitchen windowsill…thank you Terry!

Thanksgiving Fry Boxes at the High School

High School Fry Boxes 001

“All serious daring starts from within.”

~Eudora Welty

We had some serious daring at the high school this morning when my son Joseph and his classmates undertook this cute little Thanksgiving project.  You did a GREAT job everyone!!!  Thank you for being such attentive listeners and for treating my stamping supplies with great respect.  We had a new student this morning and he thought the Big Shot was “pretty cool!”  Thank you for having me, class, and have fun with your cooking project tomorrow to fill your Thanksgiving “fry boxes.”  Be careful when you carry them home so that they don’t get squished in your backpacks!  When I come back next month you will have to tell me who the lucky recipients of your Thanksgiving gifts were.  Love, Mrs. MacKay

Good Morning and Welcome to Stamping Peace. If you are new to our little spot, I should explain that when the blog post comes to our e-mail, we have to click the title to get “inside” to see the photo. We had one follower that kept saying that the pictures weren’t coming to her, and we finally figured out the problem (after a couple of weeks).  This computer stuff isn’t always so easy for us fifty somethings!  : )

I wasn’t able to go to Convention this year, but have you seen the three minute convention video? It is so uplifting!  I haven’t paid the extra money to post videos on our blog, but you can see it on my FaceBook account or our Stamping Peace Facebook account or you can see it on You Tube. Every time I watch it, it leaves me smiling and dancing!

Today’s card was submitted by Terry, another one of our Stamping Peace Leaders, for our July Leadership Challenge…to make a card with a seaside theme.  I’m not sure if the banner is supposed to be a pier post, but that is what it makes me think of, along with the woodgrain “pier”.  (The doily the card is sitting on reminds me of a starfish!)  Terry used the By the Seashore Stamp set, and the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  It looks like the “nautical rope” was tied with Linen Thread.  It’s a beautiful, soothing seaside all-occasion card Terry.  Thanks for playing along with our challenge!
