“When [we] hear false identities whispered in [our] ear, replace them with [our] real identity:  LOVED.”

~Chris Stefanick

Good Morning Stampers!  Hope you had a great weekend.  We had an indoor camp-out with the Boy Scouts and it was a blast!  Todays card was made for Chris Stefanick, an internationally acclaimed author and speaker who spoke to a sold-out audience in Bangor, Maine last Thursday night.  Whatever your faith, he has a one minute video that’s worth watching on rewriteyourname.com   It’s all about loving ourselves and it’s pretty powerful!  Anyway, we took our Boy Scout Troop to see him, so this is the card we are going to send him.  The layout is from this weeks Global Design Project at http://www.global-design-project.com, along with inspiration from GDP Designer Brian Kings take on the layout.

I used the Painted with Love Designer Series Paper, an old Heart Embosslit, and an old Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “One Big Meaning.”  Thanks for the inspiration Global Design Project and Brian King!   Have a peaceful day,  xo Dawn

An Epic Run

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”

~Steve Prefontaine

Good Morning Stampers!  My son Joseph and I made this card the day of the Boston Marathon last week.  We were tracking a fellow parishioner, Tracy Guerrette, who was chosen to run with the first group of elite women runners.  She gave it her all, despite the rainstorm and 30 mph headwinds that day.  She finished 25th out of thousands and thousands of runners!!!  Yay, Tracey!!!  For the card, we used the beautiful Painted with Love DSP and the Sale-A-Bration “Epic Celebrations” stamp set.  Three cheers for our local champion!!!

Have a peaceful day, xo Dawn

Courage for CAS(E) This Sketch #268

“Healing takes courage and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.”

~Tori Ames

This card will be sending a little courage to my brother’s fiance.  She battled uterine cancer and got the “all clear”, but now the doctors think it may have gone into her back.  Waiting for tests!  For this card I used the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set, the Support Ribbon Framelits Dies and the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.  The lacy white paper is a gift I received from my dear on-line friend, Nancy Farrell.  She attending OnStage and sent me a whole package of goodies from the event.  Thank you so much Nancy!!!  For the design layout I used the sketch over at http://www.casethissketch.blogspot.com

I hope everyone had a great week-end.  We were having fun at the Bangor (Maine) Garden Show.  Our son, Jonathan, and his Summersweet Landscaping/Hardscaping/Maintenance/Lawn Care crews won second place!  It’s so much work but there’s no feeling like walking into spring after a long Maine winter!  Have a peaceful day, Dawn xoxo

Lots to Love Box

“Just because someone doesn’t love you in the way you want them to, doesn’t mean that they don’t love you with all they’ve got.”

~Unknown

Well, the snow stopped yesterday in time for our card class, but we have a few more inches coming down this morning!  It’s nice to have such a great hobby on these snow days!  It was so much fun to see fellow stampers yesterday.  This is a Valentine Box that we made to match the Valentine Card that I posted yesterday.  This was made with the new Lots to Love Box Thinlits Dies & the Sure Do Love You Stamp Set.  We used Rose Red Cardstock since I have it and don’t seem to ever use that color!

If you’re in the mood for a little romantic reading for St. Valentine’s Day,  I’ve recently discovered Jenny Colgan.  She’s a New York Times bestselling author from the UK.  She is so funny and witty and sensitive at the same time.  I found her “Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery” in the donated book bin at the supermarket, now have to go to the library and look for the first two books in that trilogy before Valentines Day comes round. (“comes round”….that’s my new british accent after just finishing the book early this morning!)  : )

Have a great Day!  Peace, Dawn

Sure Do Love You

“May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door.”

~Irish Blessing

As long as the present snowfall stays light, this is a card we will be making at card class this afternoon.  The warm words come from the new “Sure Do Love You” Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set.  It’s complimented with some new pretty Designer Series Paper called “Painted With Love.”  Inside, I used some of the DSP to cut out a tiny heart with the new “Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies”.   The little doily that the hearts are sitting on is made with the new “Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies.”  The sweet little “candy hearts” are also from the “Sure Do Love You” set.   Hope you’ll be sending out, and receiving, some warm words this Valentine season!   Peace, Dawn.
